Let us join together to celebrate light in this free community Zoom event! Winter Solstice and mid-winter has been an important time of year for all people of the earth since prehistoric times. We’ll demonstrate a simple beeswax candle rolling technique for children and adults, followed by a candle lighting ceremony.

Join instructors Meg Handler and Jodi Levine-Wright for a 4-week wild crafts camp. This is a one-of-a-kind virtual summer camp supported by mailed kits to make wild crafts at your home. Create mini cob houses, yucca paint brushes, natural pigments, compost tie dye and an elderberry branch container! Camp meets Wednesday mornings in our Zoom classroom. Camp can also be a purely off-the-grid experience as a set of beautiful self-led D.I.Y. kits with instructions.

For most of human history, people have made everything we need from the plants, animals, and minerals we’ve found around them. These skill are perhaps more relevant than ever for the health of our bodies and ecosystems. This hands-on workshop series introduces students to a series of useful urban homesteading skills that they can take with them through life. Projects may include natural dyeing, drying and preserving herbs, sewing, weaving, printing and more. Ages 7 - 11.
