The Learning Garden begins

This Spring, we finally took the first step on our journey to transform our tiny 3,500 square foot home lot into an activity garden that models how a family can live ecologically in a modest size urban home space. We’re sharing this journey here in hopes of teaching and inspiring other families to do the same.

May 12, 2020: First, we installed wood stringers along the existing fence. These will be supports for the fruit trees that we will plant and espalier, or train to grow horizontally along the fence.
